How to make it more native-like no. 39: I have to admit I really care...

Hello there again,

I'd like to find a way to express the fact that I really care about getting a job. Is there a better way to say it than:

I have to admit I really care about getting this job.

I'd like to find better expressions for the highlighted parts.

Thanks

Hello Perfect Stranger. Your formula is entirely correct, but sounds rather apologetic. Most employers want to take on employees who are keen to get the job offered, so I don't see why you don't say simply: I really care about getting this job.

Simplification is apt. On the other hand, as the idea here is clearly "to get", yo could simplify it further for effect "I really care about this job". "Getting this" has subtle certain subtle connotations where it could lead to the interviewer's comprehension of your intentions as typically "adverse" -which wouldn't serve your venture all too well. Why "getting this job"? Remove that bit and just
