How to interpret this sensentence, especially "that are then going to"

Dear all,

I've got a some sentence when I ran across the web. The sentence which is like this "that is where they build up all the bacteria that
are then going to colonise their gut in the future."

Actually I understood at still here "that is where they build up all the bacteria". But I can't understand after that.
