How to inform manager informally about absence

i want to email my manager to convey that "as discussed earlier, i will not come to work on coming monday" ....can i write "as discussed, i will take off on coming monday" ...is 'take off' correct here ...or it should be take 'off' or something different.

You need to capitalize where necessary!!!

take off is fine. You take a day off. I wouldn't use both off and on.

As discussed, I'll be taking this coming Monday off.
