How to inform a PHD student of following my work up?
Hi everybody,
It's my first time posting so forgive me if there is any mistake with my sentences.
I'm a Bsc student and I'm working on a project with a PHD student in my faculty. That's nearly for a year that I am far from my family. I'l like to be away for a month or more. But I don't want to tell him about the reason. I just want to assure him that I'll follow my work up. I'm going to try this. Is it formal and polite?
Hi,
Mr.---
I will be away for a month or more and it may cause delay in my replies but surely I'll follow my work up.
Counting on your generosity to accept my sincere apologies for any inconvenience caused during this period of time.
Thank you for everything,

It is impolite to not offer a reason. I suggest that you include some reference to it in your letter, for such a lengthy absence.
