How to improve my pronunciation in English

I have completed English O levels ( equivalent to GCSE level in UK i think ).
I find that my pronunciation is really terrible. Like I having been thinking Chile is pronounced as similar to "Child". Only recently I found it to be "Chi-ley".
And the silent letters are quite troublesome. eg aisle,foriegn, champagne etc
How can I try to perfect my pronunciation of words?
Also, how can I try to polish up my grammer?

To improve your pronunciation of words, I suggest listening to some recordings of English that have a full transcript. Read the transcript in your head as you listen to the recording and note any words that differ from the pronunciation you expected. Here is a good site with several recordings with transcripts:
