How to improve listening skills

I'm listening to US TV play 'two broke girls' to improve my listening capacity. There are many work connections and droped sounds make me confused, a word sounds different in a sentence than individually. Is there any rules to follow up?

Thanks.

Maybe to choose a program with subtitles? I think the only rule is to listen, listen, and listen. Another option is to listen to the TOEFL listening section (training).

  • It's also American English (all the dialogues are written down).
  • This was you can improve American English, and TV plays will be no problem anymore.
