How to identify whether a prepositional phrase is functioning as an adjunct or complement

Hello teachers:

How to determine or identify whether a prepositional phrase is functioning as a complement or an adjunct in a sentence, please?

-The book is on the table.

-She went to the market.

- That belongs to her

In the sentences above, please tell me the grammatical function of the prepositional phrases. As far as my knowledge is concerned, I think they are all functioning as adjuncts.

No, they are all complements. Obligatory elements are always complements: they are needed to complete the verb phrase; optional elements may be either complements or adjuncts.
