how to identify a book title

Hi,

If I'm writing a letter, short story, or article for a magazine, how would I refer that I quoted something from a book, or that I'm talking about a book.

For example,

Yesterday, I read a few chapters from "To Kill A Mockingbird."

or,
Regarding Aslan and the children we read "Some Words From a Book Here" (Book Title)

If you have the abilty to put the title in italics, that is the first choice. For a book, the second choice is to underline. If you have no formatting options at all, then use the quotation marks.
