How to give sound any alphabet while in different words while pronounciatio

In words "Cap" and "Jar" a's Phonetic sound is different. This is only one example. There are many such words. My question is how to teach a child of 4 or 5 year to pronounce and write these words correctly?

I'm not sure how detailed an explanation you might want to give to such a young child. Perhaps the best way is through example, that is, by grouping according to rhyming patterns. Don't teach exceptions until the basics are mastered. "cap", "sap", "rap", "tap", "nap" ... are one group. "cat", "bat", "fat", "pat", ... are another group. Then there are the groups with consonant combinatio

I agree to what CJ has mentioned and I belive things could get better if you can show the child a video that has loads of pictures and then when you enter you hear the correct pronunciation and this is how he will learn . Harsh , I believe that you are an Indian , so just remenber the days when your parents taught you different words in Hindia with various A sounds and you learnt
