How to get a better handle of this?

0Hi,02br
02br
00Whenever I encounter the sorts of phrases like the underlined part where a preposition is attached to the words like 'which', I have a hard time deciding which prepositional word is needed in that situation. Do you have a tip? A grammar I saw seems to rely on the method of separating the sentence involved like the example I gave below.02br
02br
01i00eg, 02i02br
02br
01i00I am with my friend, Joe, at this moment. Joe is a person I am playing chess with.02i02br
02br
01i00I am playing chess with Joe, whom I am with at this moment.02i02br
02br
01i00I am playing chess with Joe, 01u00with whom02u00 I am at this moment. (Looks awkward I know.)02i02br
02br
00Can you employ a similar method for this too?02br
02br
01i00This is not the way 01u01b00in which02b02u00 this situation is normally discussed.02i0-

0Hi,02br
02br
00If I can make a small extra comment, you don't 'get a handle 01b00of02b00 something', you 'get a handle 01b00on 02b00something'.02br
02br
00The idea is that, if something has a handle on it, you can grasp it better.02br
