Hi
How are you?
Please, I'd like to know how to say the following ( the term underlined in particular):
Jane showed symptoms of covid-19 after she was in contact with her grandparents who have covid-19.
I don't feel it's quite right although it's clear that the listener wouldn't think that 'in contact' means by phone or email, for instance, because of the term "she showed systems". So she must be visiting and setting with them without considering social distance.
Jane showed symptoms of covid-19 after she was mixing with her grandparents who were effected by covid-19.
I think this term "she was mixing" is a literal translation. So, I don't think it's correct or even clear for you.
Jane showed symptoms of covid-19 after she was hanging out with her grandparents who have covid-19.
I feel that this sentence might express the meaning better but I guess 'hanging out' usually used with friends, classmates, strangers etc.
What do you think?
lease, I'd like to know how to say the following ( the term underlined in particular): Jane showed symptoms of covid-19 after she was in face to face contact with her grandparents, (comma) who already had it. I don't feel it's quite right although it's clear that the listener wouldn't think that 'in contact' means by phone or email, for instance, because of the term "she showed systems". So she must be visiting and setting with them without considering social distance.
