How to express something that hasn't happened in a while

Hello! Which one is correct? Or could someone show me the correct way to phrase what follows?

1) It is extremely remarkable that from 1993 to nowadays there haven’t been new records

2) It is extremely remarkable that from 1993 to date there haven’t been new records
