How to express a kind of torture

I don't know how to express it. I am translating an interview of a torture victim. He says that his torturer shoved him on to the ground, held his testicles and then pulled him up trice, cauding serious damage to his testicles.

Can I say: He was lifted up by the testicles? or He was pulled up by the testicles?

Is there any best alternatives to express this?

Thanks.

Either is grammatically correct, but it is better to show the doer (avoid passive voice):

The torturer shoved him onto the ground, then lifted him up by his testicles. He repeated this twice more, seriously damaging his testicles.
