How to describe

Hello,
I am trying to describe this girl.



Her arms are wrapped around her knees, her face is buried.
She is putting her arms around her knees and burying her face.
These are my sentences, but I feel that they are wrong. Could you please help me with it?

Your sentences are okay. I'm a native English speaker in the US and I would have a hard time describing her position as well as you did. The reason is that in the US you would typically not describe such a position just as a physical position.

The reason is that in the US you would typically not describe such a position just as a physical position. You would instead describe it based mainly on what the girl is doing or how she is feeling. She might be crying, but that's not really obvious in the picture.

The original sentences are fine for simply describing the position. An alternative would be "hiding her face."
