How to describe?

I just noticed that I have a lump inside my cheek and the area feels warm like an infection. How would I describe the warmth? Is it usual to say it feels warm? If the doctor asks me if I feel anything, how would I describe it?

Thanks a million!

We are not doctors ( at least I am not) . My best advice would be to describe in your own words your symptoms, you know best what you feel. Leave vocabulary and grammar aside, if gesticulating helps, do it !

Warm should be enough to get your point across.
