That was my first thought as well, but are you sure spacious can always be used here? According to the dictionary, 'spacious' already means "much space", vast, so this implies that the old home must have had much space as well; this one just has even more space.

That's an ingenious conclusion, Ferdis.

Oddly, though, while "spacious" does mean "having much space", "more spacious" simply means "having more space".

You would probably say "A is even more spacious than B", where B was already considered "spacious".
