How to construct rank question?

Hi,
I'll give an example to describe the issue:

Q1: Who was the 42nd president of United States?
A1: Bill Clinton.

Now, I want to ask it the other way, so that the answer is "42nd" and "Bill Clinton" is referred to in the question, like that:
Q2: .... Bill Clinton...?
A2: 42nd.

How should I construct Q2?

I would suggest to use either of these options:

What place does Bill Clinton take in the sequence of presidents?
What number president was Bill Clinton?

But mind you I am not a native. So, it is better to wait for other comments.
