How to confirm whether a word has an article?

Dictionaries for foreign English learners show whether words such as NATO, European Union, United Kingdom, Roman alphabet, and Greek mythology, French Revolution have a, the, or no article, altough dictionaries for native speakers or encyclopedias almost do not. But not all words are included in learner's dictionaries, hence problems. Can you show me a solution?

The solution is to become familiar with articles in the English language. Their correct use is not easy to grasp at first, but will come with time and practice. In addition to several threads posted here over the years (use the search box above - left) here is a link to a site that offers a pretty good explanation of articles (and a pop quiz, if you wish).
