How to choose a keyword?

Hi, dear teachers, now I want to search the source (origination, evolvement) of the abbreviated word "VS" by (or 'in'?) google. I tried some keywords, such as "vs source", "origination vs", etc. But I still couldn't get the result what I want. So, pls tell me how to choose a appropriate keyword for it. Thanks a lot.

versus etymology
at Yahoo
(as vs. means/signifies versus, and etymology means origin)

Thank you GG and MH. You all(or 'two'?) are well at searching for something by search engine, but MH's skill seems better(or seems to be better?). Kiding(or 'just have a joke/kid.'?).
