How to choose a keyword?

Hi, dear teachers, now I want to search the source (origination, evolvement) of the abbreviated word "VS" by (or 'in'?) google. I tried some keywords, such as "vs source", "origination vs", etc. But I still couldn't get the result what I want. So, pls tell me how to choose a appropriate keyword for it. Thanks a lot.

PS: Pls fell free to check my grammar and tense, cause I am not sure about them. Thanks again.

Search with
versus etymology
