I, for one, am rather stunned. Is that a tragedy? I mean, if an Italian from Northern Italy one day began speaking with a southern accent (and I can assure you that accents in Italy are pretty different from each other) it would be just funny...

There was a similar case here where an English woman spoke with a French accent following a stroke (although she could speak no French). I heard her interviewed and found it difficult to believe.
