Hi there, how to change these underlined finite sub-ordinate clauses to non finite sub-ordinate clauses? and can anyone check on what have I done? Are they in correct forms?
1. The robber clutched the moneybag in his hand and ran through the forest. = Clutching the moneybag in his hand, the robber ran through the forest.
2. Jean arrived late and greatly disturbed her sister. = have no idea.
3. Geoffrey hoped he could swim a mile underwater. = Geoffrey hoped to swim a mile underwater.
4. The children wept inconsolably, and they ran to their parents. = Having wept inconsolably, the children ran to their parents.
5. The backpack weighed more than 20 pounds, and Rowan found it hard to carry on his back. = have no idea.
can anyone check and give answers@opinion for each reasons? I'm just confused of how to change them. Is there any simple pattern@rules other than looking at the tense? Thanks!

Okay, now I can see what you mean, so the underlined clauses are not the subordinate clauses right, they are no non-finite clauses? Because that's what I have been taught by my lecturer. The non-finite clauses are the ones which consist of non-finite verbs. I'm just confused. Anyway, thanks for your comments Clive!
