How to ask in a chat to a peer/boss - are you still working late night

Hi Friends ,

Sometimes i struggle to say/write in english for even a simple sentence .

How to ask a Boss /Peer if i see him online late at night - should i start with - busy? still working ? how was your day ? etc any ideas to start the concversation

Also how ask a boss/peer whether his travelling as planned to meet us since he missed coming last week .

Please help
