How to address people in e-mails?

Dear Users,

If I'm sending an email with an inquiry to an institution or a company and I don't know the person's name, how should I address them? Let's say I wanted to send an e-mail to LinkedIn and ask a few questions... How should I begin the email? Dear Sir or Madam sounds a bit outdated... Dear LinkedIn sounds inappropriate...

Thanks.

For a formal communication, "Dear Sir or Madam," is still OK in my opinion. For an informal email (and correspondence nowadays is increasingly informal), you can just start "Hi,".
