How thick is my accent?

Hi everyone, I'm just curious what do you guys think of my accent. Am I easy to understand and if you were to guess where I'm from, what country would you pick? To demonstrate, I'm reading few lines from Napoleon Hill's book. I really need some criticism Emotion: smile

if you were to guess where I'm from, what country would you pick? If I had to guess, I'd say Russia. I am not a native speaker, so probably my opinion isn't the one you were looking for, but I think your pronunciation is very good.

In my opinion (not a native speaker), your accent and pronounciation are very good for the most part. Still, your enunciation could be clearer at times as I really have to listen very carefully to understand some parts of that text. More specifically, the the in ruthless comes across almost as an f sound. "failure" is somewhat drawn as if you were trying to emulate an Irish accent. The stress in c

it's there, I mean an accent. but not heavy. You speak well.

Native speaker from Sydney, Australia. It sounds very Californian, but a bit laboured. I don't know if you were just trying to speak clearly for the recording or this is your normal speed. The accent is good and clear, but unless you're reading for an audience you can pick up the pace a bit. Hope this helps.
