How soon or how long ? help please

Dear Teachers>>( ___ ) will you stay in Hong Kong? I Should Use " How long " or "How soon " ? Someone says use “How soon" is wrong. Why? >>>>>>>>>but I think both of them are ok to be used. What do you think?

It's not a natural question that a native speaker would say, because a stay refers to a period of time. A stay is not a point in time.

Hi Jacky56Lin, I think you are mixed up with these tow phrase. Although they are both about time. How soon can you get the package over here? This asks for the quickest possible time to make the devlery. How long will you stay in HK? This aks for the length of time you've planned to spend in HK? Is that helpful ?
