How should this be said? Grades: 5th - 8th or Grades: 5-8 or....

Grades: 5 thru 8.

I will be using this in a school advertisment.

Grades 5 thru 8 will work just fine. An alternative would be 5th to 8th graders.

I suggest that you use through rather than thru though.
