"How often do you go to the theater?"

"How often do you go to the theater?"

I think that go to the theater is idiomatic and it does not mean a specific one here, but it means similar to go to the movies. Am I right?

However, come to think of it, we also can use go to the theater for a specific one in some context, right?

Thank you so much as usual.

Come to think of it, all of them are for specific ones and I would like to know when they are used for unspecific ones and reasons if you don't mind.

Thank you for your time and help as usual.

The key word is 'often'. It suggests going now to one theater, now to another, not necessarily always to the same one.

How often to you go to the theater? (Non-specific theater.)
