It's unnatural. The answer has to match the question.

How often? Once a week.
When? On Sundays.

It's not an unnatural answer.

A more direct answer would be eg Every Sunday.

If "On Sundays" sounds unnatural, why is "Almost everyday" fine?

It isn't.

I am sorry, it's not "Almost everyday", but "Almost every day." Is it still a wrong answer to the question?

No, it's fine.

A: How often do you go to a pub?
B: Daily/Almost every day.

Could you tell me what the difference is between 'Once a week' and 'Daily/Almost every day'? The above conversaion sounds very natural to me, and if 'Once a week' matches to the original question, I think 'Daily/Almost every day' should also match to it. I don't think I have to answer only by using "~ times" mec

A: How often do you go to a pub?
B: Daily/Almost every day/Once a week/Three times a week
.
All of the answers above are OK.
But I seldom hear 'daily'. People usually say 'every day'.

If 'Almost every day' is okay, now we go back to the first question, why is 'On Sundays' wrong? Is there any difference between 'On Sundays' and '(Almost) every day'? I think the diffence between them is only that the criterion of time is changed from 'week' to 'day'. However, according to my grammar book, 'Almost every day' is fine but 'On Sundays' wrong to the original question, "How often ~ ?"

lucas21cnow we go back to the first question, why is 'On Sundays' wrong?
Not everyone on this thread agrees that "On Sundays" is wrong.

Your textbook and I happen to agree that "on Sundays" does not directly answer the question "How often?" (It does answer it indirectly, however, because you can easily infer "once a week" from "on Sundays".)
