[how much sales tax] [$100 in sales tax]

I have made up the two questions with the answers below.

(1a) How much sales tax do I have to pay for the item?

(1b) I have to pay $100 sales tax for it.

(2a) How much do I have to pay in sales tax for the item?

(2b) I have to pay $100 in sales tax for it.

Whether this is given as an answer or as a question that elicits the answer, which pair of the question and answer is correct? Please help me. I really appreciate all your help. Thank you.
