How much or what is allowed?

Hi,

I was looking through Bishop NcNamara's Family Newsletter and I think I saw the writings under the heading of some thing like rules and want to ask you what is being emphasize here? Readability or correct grammar or some other thing. How much can I do away with if a person is writing this kind of rules? Skipping articles OK? What else?

(Note: I might not have written/transcribed just as they were written. Many things may not be as they were.)

* Grade 11 honors were achieved by ...

* Homerooms will not meet during exam week. Students should report directly to their classrooms. Dress code in effect

* After school study hall will ber available for those students who do not have transportation home.

This is about as much as you can skip in a tabulation or listing of what I would call 'information points' rather than 'rules'. Rules are commonly handled similarly, however. I cannot come up with an absolute list of what may be omitted or restructured, but articles would be on it, I am sure.
