How many times have you been married?

Does a meaing of phrase "how many times have you been married?" include a current marriage? Is this phrase asking for the number of times I've been married before the current marriage?

So, for example, if I am currently married and if this is my first marriage, would the answer to this question be zero or one?

I am a bit confused.

" you should include your current marriage in the total. If you are married and it's your first marriage, then your reply would be "once". If you have never been married at all, then your answer would be zero.
