How many times a day?

Am I correct in the short passage?

Peter has a pet dog. He calls it Harry / He calls it "Harry". He feeds the dog third a day.

P/s: What do we say for "three times, four times, five times ,six times" a day?

Thanks.

Top answer

three times = thrice I would still suggest that you use three times, four times and so on even if you knew the one word substitutions. He feeds the dog once/twice a day is okay.

He calls it Harry.

He feeds the dog three times a day (an archaic by now form is 'thrice').

Three times, four times, five times, six times - just like you said it.

He feeds the dog thrice a day.

P/s: I would like to know, just like "three times = thrice", how about four times, five times and six times?

Not really as it's archaic (old use). You shouldn't say that in contemporary English.

There are none.
