No. 'Appear' is completely wrong. You need to choose another word.

In my experience, an exam usually involves only one subject.eg 3 subjects, 3 exams.

As I said, an exam usually deals with one subject. For example, a student would say something like

I have to take 5 subjects for/in my final exams.

do you say "in" an exam in Canadian English? Americans say "on" an exam, so I would have used "on" in your example. I also have to say that I'm not sure what variety you speak, if it is pure Canadian English or a mix of other varieties influenced by
