How many hours do you need to sleep well?

Hi guys,

They say an adult needs 8 hours a day to sleep well. I have a friend who says 6-7 hours is enough for her.

How about you? How many hours do you need to wake up easily and feel fine during the day?

I need about 7 to 9 hours before I feel well-rested for a whole day. I know there are people who only needs 5 hours, and people who needs 10 hours. It obviously varies a lot from person to person - and I think it's important to find out when you get enough sleep.

I have read that traditionally, it was normal for people to sleep for 4 hours, wake up and read or talk with neighbors for an hour or so, then sleep for another four (called the second sleep). Quite interesting.
