How many? "a set of barbecue tongs"

Hi

I think, tongs are used always plural so, I believe "a set of tongs" mean "one" of the cooking tools. Am I correct? Or Do they mean, various kinds of tongs?

Yes, I would think so. 'Set' is quite odd. 'A pair of BBQ tongs' is the usual.
