How long will you remain angry with me?

Hi

Could you please check the naturalness (and register) of this dialogue? Any suggestiosn please?

Hira is sitting in her garden when Aman walks up to her. Seeing him Hira gets up and is walking away when Aman says:

Aman: How long will you remain angry with me? (or mad at me?)

Hira: Why should you think I'm angry with you?

Aman: How much have we spoken since you arrived here?

Hira: It’s because you don't want to speak about something we must talk about.

Aman: What’s that?

Hira: Will you answer?

Aman: I’ll try.

Hira: Why did you hide her death/the news of her death from me?

Aman: I’ve told you before, I don’t want to talk about this matter.

Hira: (walking away) OK, and I hope that you won’t need to ask me again why I don’t want to talk to you at all.

Thanks,

Tom

Hi That's great dialogue - it sounds natural to me 'Don't be angry with me' is probably more UK. 'Don't be mad at me' is probably more US - Why did you hide her death from me? - Why did you hide the news of her death from me?

  • Hi That's great dialogue - it sounds natural to me 'Don't be angry with me' is probably more UK.

  • - Why did you hide the news of her death from me?
  • Both of those are natural - I can't choose between them.
  • If it's an angry dialogue (which it is), then the shorter sentence may be better Dave
