Hi. Would the bold-face question be natural in this dialog? And would both "is" and "was" be natural?


A: How long have you been playing tennis?

B: You asked me that last time.

A: Did I?

B: Yes.

A: So how long is/was it?

Yes.

I'd say only "is" here because it's "How long is it that you've been playing?" To use "was", it would have to be maybe "So what was your answer then?"
