How long does it take to speak en as good as american natives ?

Back in the day when I was about 9, 10, or whatever... f**k it, I hardly could remember, more or less, it doesn’t make a difference … after 20 years I still can't speak en without without strain and I want to speak this bloody lan as good as a newyorker does ! so how long does it take if I do my utmost ?
