How long are you staying open for?

How shall I ask this question if I want to know when a shop is due to close? I could ask - when do you close? But if I want to ask in that way, which tense should I use? How long do you/the shop stay open for? -is this a better variant? What other expressions can I use to sound more like an English native speaker?

Hi, Clive.
Here, the answer of your first question can be that:
For instance,
until midnight
until eight o'clock
or
10:00 am to 08:00 pm
Why am I asking this?
Because I wonder about what the word "to" in your first sentence means.

Right.
I thought of the preposition, "to" like "until" but I couldn't be sure of that. Thank you, Clive.

Could the answer be a period of time? Like as the original is How long are you staying open for, could the answer be: for 2 more hours? Also why is it only Present Simple that can be used? If the person asked for the special opening times during, let's say, Christmas, would that make any difference?
Thanks
