How it gets cold VS how cold it gets

Hi!, In the dialogue below...........

- Aren't you happy that it's snowing out?

- I am, but I don't like _____________

(a) How cold it gets during winter.

(b) How it gets cold during winter.

_____________________________

In the blank, both (a) and (b) possible? Or, just (a) is correct?

Top answer

I would use only A. To me, the second (b) is incorrect. I also wouldn't say snowing out.

  • I would use only A.
  • To me, the second (b) is incorrect.
  • I also wouldn't say snowing out.
  • (snowing outside is ok but even that is redundant)

Actually, "It's snowing out" is a very idiomatic thing to say in the places I've lived.
