How is this awkward?

I once said on a forum "Does Israel offer auto citizenship to the ones born within the nation?"
And then somebody replied, saying that my sentence was "awkwardly stiff",
how is my sentence awkwardly stiff?
And the most important part,
what does it EVEN MEAN that a sentence is STIFF?
I personally think that her description is lame, though.

Hi, 'Stiff' is hard to define. That's why, instead, people often offer examples of better sentences. Very broadly, a stiff sentence uses too much formality for its context.
