How is my car coming along?

Does 'How is my car coming along' sound OK for asking the status of my car that is being repaired in a garage?

I know 'How is it coming along' can be used to ask of the progress of a project or student homework , but not sure about applying it to a car.

Thanks.

I don't see any reason why you couldn't say this. From experience, I'm pretty sure that when my motorcycle is in for a service it would not be odd for me to say "So how's my bike coming along?"
