How is he feeling/doing?

1.

If you know that the person you're asking about is in a coma, would it be wrong to ask:

"How is Trey feeling?"

But...

"How is Trey doing?" would be OK?

2.

Would this exchange be natural:

"How is Trey? Is he doing better?"

"Not really. He's not doing so good."
