I want to say that I'm no longer an employer. So, how is correct?

I was an employer.

You can also say I used to be an employer.

If you want to say that you are no longer an employer, why not say "I'm no longer an employer"? Or, "I'm not an employer anymore". Neither of the other two sentences says what you want to say more exactly than you have already said
