As we know usually, though 'much' can't go with adjectives, it can precede the adjectives made out of the past participle form of verbs.
I was wondering if it should be 'how' or 'how much' when it comes to a an interrogation?
E.g.
He is a much acquainted person to all of us.> How/ How much acquainted is he to us?
He got much detached from us as he moved as far as London.> I can't believe how/ how much detached he got.
This is a much needed step to solve the problem.> How/ how much needed is the step?
Including "much" (in this sense) in the interrogative form doesn't really work. In the affirmative sentence "much" expresses a strong degree, but when you are asking the question you are just asking what degree, or how strong is the degree, not already assuming that it is strong. zany banana 409 He is a much acquainted person to all of us.
