How he looks
1. "I don't like the way he looks."
2. "I don't like how he looks."
Is it grammatical to use "look" as a linking verb with the adverbs "how" and "the way" as in the above sentences since adverbs modify only lexical verbs ?

Debpriya De1. "I don't like the way he looks."1. is OK. You'll hear 2. as well, but it doesn't sound as good.
