How far removed

I was looking up how far removed online and came across this sentence.

Is this question correctly written?
How far removed should a cousin be before it's not wrong to marry them?

Is the second sentence correct?

Many years ago it was ok to marry 1st cousins. Now that's a little close to today's standards.

Thank you

the first one, you want the nouns / pronouns to agree. It should be: How far removed should a cousin be before it's okay to marry him/her? in the second sentence, I am not sure what you mean by the second part of that statement.
