How far did you go in the ocean?

Hi

Please tell me if the following dialogue is OK. Any suggestions are welcome.

A - How far did you go in the ocean?

B - Knee- deep only.

or

A - How far did you go in the ocean?

B - Up to our knees.

" were the same. The "Knee deep only" sounds odd to me. "Only Knee-deep" is okay.

I would say that "Knee-deep" and "Up to our knees." were the same. The "Knee deep only" sounds odd to me. "Only Knee-deep" is okay. Minor point though. More to do with your use of "only".
