How else would I know

How do I use 'how else'? If I'm referring to the past but I don't want a conditional which one would I use?

1. How else would I know if she downloaded it or not?

2. How else would I have known if she downloaded it or not?

2. How else would I have known if she had downloaded it or not?

Thanks.

Just as a supplement:

The second #2 places the imaginary 'alternative knowing' in the past, whereas #1 doesn't restrict it.

The first #2 sounds odd to me too.
