Do you have some specific words with these sounds you're having trouble with? We don't have very many sounds, other than vowels, that are formed in the throat: /k/ /ks/ /g/ "-i ng " are the common sounds that I think of.

I mean on full speech not only specific words. For an example, Roger Federer has that american sound, but he fails at many diphthongs and pronunciation rules, only good listeners can hear that. I pronounce most of them exactly same as americans do, but i don't sound as an american. And a newbie listener would say that Roger Federer sounds more american than i. I don't consider myself to have a purring sound in my voice. Without specifics, I won't be able to help you. But other native speakers may be able to identify something.

If there's anything that can be said to characterize the "American accent," it is maybe that Americans tend to "drawl out" their speech - this might be what you mean by "voice from the throat." So speak slower than you're speaking now, and "drawl things out." For example:

Hey there. = Heyyy therrre.

So what're you doing? = Sooo waaddyyreyahh doinnn?

Darko TomicThere's something missing in my pronunciation, but I haven't found it yet.
I can't imagine what you're hearing, but try speaking with a lower pitch and see if that helps you get the sound you want.

The sound that you're thinking of is produced solely in the throat and does not involve the vocal chords, the difficulty is in switching seamlessly between chord and throat produced sounds. I don't think Americans have quite cottoned on to how annoying the throat speaking is, some UK speakers have started to emulate this American phenomenon too. Have you ever wondered why mainland European females
